My commitment to this profession began at the Columbia University School of Social Work, where I specialized in an Advanced Clinical Practice. As a part of my graduate training I completed two internships in New York’s oldest and most dedicated agencies – Jewish Board of Family and Children Services and Educational Alliance. I was privileged to work with individuals and families of all ages, ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds who were struggling with wide range of difficulties from depression, anxiety and substance abuse to marital and parent-child problems.
Almost immediately after receiving my Master's degree from Columbia University, I continued to advance my skills through post-graduate training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family - a world-renowned center for teaching, research and therapy for couples and families. I learned most up-to-date clinical models from the experts in the field of family therapy.
My post-graduate work experience began at Mount Sinai Hospital in the year after 9/11 terrorist attacks. Mount Sinai was launching a new program for Ground Zero rescue workers who needed medical and mental health assessment and treatment. This unique experience resulted in my developing expertise in diagnosing and treating trauma (PTSD), depression, anxiety, impact of coping with chronic medical illness and the effect on one’s sense of self and relationships. I’ve also co-wrote a professional paper on trauma treatment and lectured on this topic at many professional conferences.
My area of interest and expertise is in attachment and bonding and its connection to trauma, loss, anxiety and depression.
I continue to expend my expertise everyday because I am committed to offering you the best quality of therapy services.
